Melinda Shankar
Melinda Shankar is a Canadian/Guyanese award-winning Film and TV actress who began her career in show business in 2008. Melinda’s first appearance on television was as Alli Bhandari in over 200+ episodes of DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION, followed by a starring role on YTV’s iconic sitcom HOW TO BE INDIE as Indie Mehta, which garnered her a Canadian Screen Award for her performance in the first series created about a South Asian family in North America.
While Melinda continues to bring characters to life for TV/FILM, she has expanded her place in show business by forming a production company called Miss Conception inc.

Marline Yan
Marline Yan is a Canadian/Cambodian Film and Television Actress, Producer and Writer. She made her debut into the entertainment industry in 2009 when she landed the role of Abi Flores in YTV's groundbreaking sitcom HOW TO BE INDIE. Marline has since gone on to work on shows such as CTV's SAVING HOPE, Family Channel's WINGIN' IT & CONNOR UNDERCOVER and most recently a Canadian Screen Award Nominated episode of the CW's CORONER as the episode title character of Bobby.
In 2020, she co-wrote and starred in her first short film SLICE for the Reel Asian Film Festival. Marline has a passion for developing characters to bring them to life on and off-screen and continues to write scripts that feature BIPOC leads.
